  1. Brainstorm activities you love

Whether it’s going to lunch with a friend or taking a long bath, write down the things you love to do and experience in this world. Focus on what brings you joy and a sense of fulfilment.

Write down as many things as you can think of in 30 minutes and each time you come across something new, add it to your list. 

  • Start small and plan ahead

Choose an item from your list and schedule a time in your calendar. It’s important to start small and not to add too much in one go. For instance, you might choose to spend 20-minutes writing each morning before you start your day. Or you might decide to reconnect with a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while.

Be patient and treat yourself with kindness if things don’t go to plan straight away. To avoid unwanted distractions, tell your family and friends you’ll be unavailable during this time.

  • Evaluate and adjust

Allow yourself the flexibility to adjust your schedule if you hit a roadblock or commitments get in the way.
